Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Woodbridge, Virginia, USA
Terms: Full Time
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per year plus commissions
Requirement: On-site, Monday-Friday, 9 am -5pm

About The Role:
The Senior Accountant is tasked with leading and optimizing accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic contributions to the organization’s financial objectives. In this pivotal role, you play a crucial part in shaping our financial landscape, driving efficiency, and contributing to our overall success. Responsibilities include overseeing financial processes with a focus on precision and regulatory compliance. Join us in a role where your expertise significantly influences our financial success.

Responsibilities:
• Review and approve engagement letters.
• Setup client portals and send initial requests to clients.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for small business clients and not-for-profits.
• Implement and maintain effective financial reporting processes.
• Produce standard accounting reports and ad hoc industry-specific reports as requested.
• Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct regular reviews to identify and address potential compliance issues.
• Contribute to the development and execution of budgeting and forecasting activities for clients.
• Provide insights to enhance clients’ overall financial strategy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting department.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and FRF for SMEs framework. and proficient in the Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities.
• Exhibit strong leadership qualities to guide and motivate the accounting team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Build positive relationships with clients, authorities, and internal teams.
• Possess strong analytical skills to review and assess financial data for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
• Manage accounting-related projects efficiently; ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
• Prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively for optimal outcomes.
• Prioritize client needs and expectations, delivering high-quality accounting services.
• Adapt strategies to align with evolving accounting standards and industry trends.
• Navigate changes in financial regulations.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in financial documentation and reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness in all accounting activities.
• Possess proficiency in accounting software and tools commonly used in the industry.
• Demonstrate a commitment to staying abreast of changes in accounting standards and industry best practices.
• Propose and implement effective solutions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimization of financial outcomes.

Candidate Requirements:

Educational Background:
Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly desirable.

Professional Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant background in government contracting, not-for-profits, or home healthcare industries. We value diverse experiences that enrich our team and enhance our capabilities.
